it's beginning to look a lot like christmas

Knoxville loves 3 things more than any other city I've been to.
1) Football
2) Fireworks
3) Christmas

Whenever we can find an excuse to combine these things together, we do.

The day after Christmas always marks the Celebration of Lights. This year since I work for the city, we've been planning this event since the 5th of July (seriously.)

Celebration of Lights is when the 38 ft. Christmas tree is lit, the outdoor ice rink opens and Christmas is officially kicked off.

(Exhibit A - see the fireworks)

During this weekend in Knoxville, there is also the Fantasy of Trees. I have never been before because I usually am out of town - but from here on out I will make a point to go each year.

Fantasy of Trees is a fundraiser held by East Tennessee Children's Hospital and it is truly a winter wonderland. Here are a *few* pictures from my first Fantasy of Trees EVER!
