Downtown Derby week was a huge success! $2000 dollars raised for Second Harvest, 1 Americana Night concert, 1 cornhole tournament, multiple glasses of wine and lanyards worn, we are done!
The first day was a cornhole tournament. Chris and Jessica were runners up and won cool t-shirts! Trevor Bayne's racecar was also parked in Market Square which was pretty cool!
Thursday was Americana Night - which was a concert by Sierra Hull, John Oates and The SteelDrivers. There was a VIP party before the concert which was a huge hit!
Friday was the fashion show! My first fashion show raised over $600 to end hunger - not too shabby.
Saturday - of course - was the derby! We went up to Club LeConte and watched the "most exciting 2 minutes of sports" with a view of the entire city of Knoxville. Attending the derby the past 2 years was fun, but this was an entirely different experience!
I'm so fortunate to work for an organization that provides entertainment while raising money and awareness for such a good cause. It's also fun to be creative and theme an entire week around one event that everybody loves.
